Living Last Supper 2018

A Living Last Supper
Asbury United Methodist Church is proud to present a Living Last Supper March 29th at 7:00pm. We invite you and your family to join us as we prepare to celebrate the joy of Easter by spending the days leading up to Easter (also called Holy Week) reflecting on the journey that lead to Christ death and resurrection. Be transported back to the last night Jesus spent with his disciples in this dramatic presentation. We hope to see you there! Nursery available for infant through Pre-K.

This is a free event open to the public. If you wish to make a love offering/donation there will be an opportunity to do so at the close of the presentation.

Faith and Family Nights

Join us every Wednesday night from 6:30 -7:30 PM for our Faith and Family Nights.
A Potluck Dinner will be served the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30-6:30 PM.
And at 6:30pm, families can move to Jamming with Jesus (preschoolers), Kid’s Life (elementary aged students), Encounter (6th-12th grade student ministry),or for a Bible study taught by  Pastor Lindsay. Nursery care provided too!
Handbells, and choir round out a full night of ministry.
KidsLIFE is off to a great start in 2017! We are focusing on the Book of Ephesians for the next four weeks, and learning the importance of personal daily quiet time with God. We are looking forward to our Valentine’s Day party on February 15th and talking about “God’s sticky eternal love”.
Stay tuned for more info on our upcoming annual Lenten mission project.
In order to satisfy safe sanctuary requirements of two adults being present, KidsLIFE needs volunteers to help out from 6:15-7:45pm for the remainder of the school year. All the lessons are prepared, we just need a second helper.
If you might be able to help out on a Wednesday evening sometime during Faith & Family nights, please talk to or email Paula Zikogiannis at

Encounter Student Ministries

2017 is here and in FULL swing! I can’t tell you what the rest of 2017 will look like, but what I can tell you is that for the 25 Jr.and Sr. high students, 3 college students, and 6 adults who celebrated NYE at a lock-in at Asbury last month it started with more than cheers, horns, fireworks, and ball drops…it started with intentionally seeking to enter the presence of God. At the stroke of midnight (well really, really close to it) we participated in a Watch Night Covenant Service, a tradition dating back to the 1700’s, where each person present had the opportunity to remember and renew their covenant with God.WOW. Seriously…WOW!
Entering into a new year in the midst of God’s presence was one of the most powerful moments of worship that I have ever experienced and in that moment when 2016 ended and 2017 began it seemed that we were really living into our new identity…
Encounter Student Ministries.
The Student Ministry Council decided to take the ministry in a new direction last fall as we changed to Wednesday Nights and we became Encounter Student Ministries. We began our first Wednesday Night together focusing on Proverbs 8:17 (CEB) “I love those who love me; those who seek me diligently find me. In this ministry we are working to seek God in EVERYTHING we do not just on Sunday mornings, to find ways to engage more purposefully in God’s word, to look for opportunities to grow spiritually and in our relationship with God and to live out our faith with every moment of every day…because when we PURPOSEFULLY are seeking God, that’s when we will find and ENCOUNTER him!
I am looking forward to seeking what God has in store for this ministry and for all the students who are currently involved, those who are not yet involved and for those students who God has yet to send our way!
Do you know a 6th-12th grader that is not yet involved in this amazing thing that God is doing here at Asbury? If so let them know that this ministry is designed JUST FOR THEM! And join us for our Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 19th.
