Blessing Box
in March of 2020 Asbury saw a need as the Corona Virus that caused COVID-19 began to spread and take it’s toll on our community and those who had lost jobs or were furloughed. This is a “take what you need, leave what you can” ministries available to all members of our community!
Online Grocery Connection
In response to the continue COVID-19 Pandemic Asbury launched the Grocery Connection program to help those in high risk categories who might need assistance placing online grocery orders. This service is available for anyone in a high risk category who lives within 5 miles of our address (5354 Space Center Blvd. Pasadena, TX 77505)
If you or someone you know is struggling to navigate the online order process or if you have questions about how to set an order up we would be glad to help you!

The Bridge Over Troubled Waters
in 2018 Asbury UMC decided to partner with a local ministry called The Bridge over Troubled waters located just down the road in Pasadena TX. The Bridge’s mission is to offer support, provide safety and prevent domestic and sexual violence.
Asbury will be sending teams monthly to provide meals, play games and activities with the children, offer prayer and other support for the adults as well.

B.I.G H.O.U.S.E TX Jr. High Summer Mission Trip and U.M, A.R.M.Y Sr. High Summer Mission Trip. These are summer mission trips designed specifically for students in the United Methodist Church who are looking for a hands-on missions ministries. UM ARMY celebrated it’s 40th anniversary in 2018 and Asbury has sent students for nearly 25 of those year. Our 9th-12th grader students look forward for this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to communities throughout Texas.
BIG House TX was started in 1996 and we have looked forward to sending students for the past 10 years. Each summer Asbury sends a team of adults and students for both BIG HOUSE and UM ARMY along with teams from other Texas churches.
We travel to another town to paint, do yard work, build wheel chair ramps, porches, stairs, and many minor repairs on the homes of those unable to do the work themselves.
28Blankets and Blessings
Blankets & Blessings’ ministry is crocheting lap blankets for patients in hospice care. They meet in a member’s home on the 2nd & 4th Sunday afternoons from 4:30 – 6:30 pm to share fellowship and encouragement while crocheting lap blankets. All skill levels are welcome. So if you are a yeoman with yarn or skilled with a skein you are welcome to join this group and get “hooked” on Blankets and Blessings!
31Manna Bag Ministry
Manna Bags – filled with food and comfort items to be given to homeless people in the Houston-Pasadena area. We make these bags available for our members and guests to take and hand out to homeless people they may see on the streets during their daily travels. Several times during the year we will carpool to the downtown Houston area and hand them out.
Pasadena Community Ministry is an organization created to help those in need of food, clothing, and money on a short-term basis. We support this ministry by collecting food and clothing, making monetary donations, and even volunteering time to work there.
36Turkey Quest
Turkey Quest is a mission project of Asbury that serves families in our community each year. We collect all the fixin’s for a Thanksgiving meal for each of the families we are put in touch with. We reach out to each of these families by delivering the food to their homes on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
The United Methodist Committee On Relief collects relief supplies such as health kits, sewing kits, cleaning buckets, layette kits, bedding kits, school kits, and birthing kits. Asbury supports UMCOR not with just our money, but by supplying items necessary to make these kits. The kits and buckets are distributed as needed to areas hit by disasters in the United States and around the globe.
